Many parents and carers tell us they sometimes struggle to support their child with Maths because it is taught differently from when they were at school. It is completely understandable to worry about showing your child the “wrong way” to solve a problem.

In the past, adults were often taught just one set method. Today, we know there are many effective ways to reach the same answer. Everyone’s brain works differently; one method might make perfect sense to one person while another prefers a different approach.
